Every recommendation on TechGearDen comes from a clear, repeatable process. Here is how we decide what makes the cut.
1. Research
We start by studying the market: specs, prices, brand reputation, warranty terms, and thousands of verified owner reviews. This helps us build a shortlist of products worth testing.
2. Hands-on testing
Where possible, we use products the way you would, in real homes and offices, over days or weeks. We take our own photos and notes during testing.
3. What we measure
- Mobile accessories: charging speed, real battery capacity, heat, cable durability, fit and drop protection
- Monitors: color accuracy, brightness, refresh rate, response time, ports and ergonomics
- Computers and peripherals: performance, build quality, typing and click feel, compatibility (Windows, macOS, ChromeOS)
- Audio: sound quality, noise cancellation, call quality, comfort and battery life
- Smart home and cameras: image quality, app experience, subscription costs, privacy and reliability
- Gadgets: usefulness, build quality and value for money
4. Scoring and ranking
Products are scored on performance, build quality, features, ease of use and value. We pick a “Best Overall”, a “Best Budget” and options for specific needs.
5. Keeping guides fresh
We revisit buying guides regularly, removing discontinued products and testing new releases. Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
